Bishop Michael A. Blue

Bio

Born in North Carolina and raised in Sellers, South Carolina, Bishop Blue's roots are deeply in the South. He graduated with a B.A. in English from Francis Marion University in 1985 and went on to teach high school English, earning awards during his 25-year tenure.

Bishop Blue's spiritual journey began in his youth, attending various churches. In 1980, he was licensed as a preacher, and by 1987, he became an Elder. He served the Born Again Church in various capacities, contributing to its growth.

​

His dedication to education extended to founding the Marion High School Gospel Chorus and later the Chosen Generation Community Youth Choir, providing a holistic artistic outlet for youth. He was named Teacher of the Year at both the school and district levels.

​

In 1991, inspired by Revelation 3:8, Bishop Blue founded The Door of Hope Church. In 1992, he became the founding pastor. Under his leadership, the church achieved remarkable milestones, including paying off the mortgage.

​

Bishop Blue's spiritual influence expands to his role as Presiding Prelate of the Christian Covenant Fellowship of Ministries (CCFM), organizing conferences and events that promote spiritual growth across several states.

He is also an accomplished author, having written "Building Credibility in Leadership: Principles for Secondary Leaders" (2011). His community involvement includes advisory roles in education and healthcare, and he delivers motivational talks to youth and conducts leadership seminars.

Bishop Blue holds honorary doctoral degrees and served on the South Carolina State Board of Education from 2010 to 2013.
